So you’ve created your products and are ready to sell them to customers. The next step is decided how to get your products into your customers hands. Thankfully the internet is genius and one of the BEST tools available for creating a powerful marketplace to sell online.
However, with so many online merchants popping up it’s hard to decide which places to help engage customers and enable you to sell online the best. When I was starting my first business, I tried selling my products through a handful of online merchants, and after years selling I’ve decided that only a few of them were really worth my time. I’ve narrowed down the search for you in this handy dandy post.
Here’s the 4 Best Places to Sell Online:
Amazon is HUGE these days and at this point sell basically every single kind of product imaginable. They have very powerful selling tools and seller support. They also offer the option to warehouse your products and drop-ship them when customers order from your website, eBay or Etsy stores. This might be a great solution for your business if you like to hold a lot of inventory and don’t have the space in your home or office. These days Amazon has over 95 Million visitors every month to the site which makes it a great place to showcase your products! Here’s more information about selling on Amazon.
If your niche is handmade products, Etsy is the best place to start selling your creations! You can easily create a store and gain a following which is a great way to get repeat customer sales. Make sure to have a link to your website in your Etsy profile so customers can connect with you off the site. Here’s a great article for learning how to market your products on Etsy.
AbesMarket is an online marketplace for selling natural and organic items including food products, clothing, art, and more. When I began selling my Gluten-free baking mixes they became one of the first online retailers to offer my products. I really enjoyed working with the AbesMarket staff and made a lot of sales through their site every month. They were also very helpful in marketing my products and even featured us a few times on their YouTube channel and blog! Like Amazon, they offer a drop-ship program where they warehouse your products and send them out as orders come in, making it easy for sellers to get their products into the hands of customers without having to hassle with postage and boxing. Here’s a link to their Seller Information page.
If you are looking to create your own online store then Shopify is the best place to create your storefront. They have created a very user-friendly system for adding products, managing orders and creating a visually stunning site. You can also incorporate your products into Pinterest and Sell on Pinterest with Buyable Pins! I think this is the coolest feature they offer since Pinterest is seriously HUGE and one of my favorite sites to browse when I’m in need of some inspiration. Plans start as low as $9/month and they offer a 1 Week Free Trial.
