When I started my first business books were my favorite method of learning. College’s base almost all courses on books, so why not just put myself through my own personal business school using the library and Amazon.com? That was my thinking when I started my first business years ago and it has served me well since then. The books for business women listed below helped me gain perspective on how to do business, how to be successful at what I was doing, and how to change my thoughts from a consumer to a provider of both products and information.
Here’s my list of 5 Inspiring Books for Business Women and Mompreneurs:
“Sell Your Specialty Food Product” by Stephen F. Hall
This was the first business book I read when starting my food business back in 2010. It was originally published in 1992 but Hall’s advice still rings true today! I have read other food product business books since reading this book and they don’t compare. This is a must read if you are starting a food business!
“Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki
This book is a classic! I just love Kiyosaki’s story on how he built his empire, the thinking behind his actions and how he navigated through difficult business situations. He provides a well thought out plan on how to change your thinking on money and wealth so you can achieve your financial goals. Great read!
“When She Makes More” by Farnoosh Torabi
This book is for when your business really starts to take off and how to navigate this with your (possibly) less earning other half. I love how this is a discussion that’s finally happening in our society!
“Getting Your Book Published for Dummies” by Sarah Parsons Zackheim
I loved reading Zackheim’s recount of her book publishing mishaps and triumphs! Her tone is friendly and very informative. For anyone interested in writing a book, this is your go-to resource.
“Personal Branding for Dummies” by Susan Christen M. Ed, PCC
This is another great For Dummies book, this time dedicated to personal branding and how to get your best self out there. This book was a great help for me while building this blog and figuring out my voice, how I wanted the world to view me, and how to align my goals with my personal brand and lifestyle.
