Wondering what the best apps to sell jewelry in 2020 are? In this post I share a roundup list of apps that allow you to sell items such as jewelry. If you're ready to sell your jewelry, keep reading.
Why sell jewelry using an app?
Apps are very powerful tools that can be accessed from the convenience of a smart phone. Using an app to sell your stuff is great because most apps that allow you to sell jewelry make it very easy to post your items to their platform. Additionally, you can check your sales anytime, anywhere that you have wifi or cell service using the app on your phone.
My preference is to work with American companies so in this post I share apps that are made in America.
Best apps to sell jewelry
One of the most popular items to sell with an app is jewelry. One reason why I think jewelry is a great item to sell through an app is because jewelry is often times small, lightweight and easy to ship. Unlike dishes or large awkward items, jewelry is inexpensive to package and ship, and is unlikely to break during transit to the customer. Jewelry is also very easy to store in a small space because it's not very big and can be easily tucked away into a storage compartment.
Here's some of the best apps to sell jewelry:
eBay is one of my favorite places to sell items online and I see lots of jewelry for sale on this platform. I use the eBay app to list my items, check for bids, message with customers, leave feedback and photograph my items. One of my favorite perks of selling using the eBay app is that often times they allow me to post items for free. This makes it less risky to sell online when you can post items for free without worrying about losing money on the transaction. I've found that eBay will allow me to post anywhere between 50-200 items for free each month. If you consider that posting a listing can cost about .35 cents, that cost really can add up.
The etsy app is very easy to use, and allows you to photograph your items such as jewelry, as well as create listings, message with customers and view analytics for your shop. This marketplace attracts customers who appreciate handmade items so if you're selling handmade jewelry this app allows you to get your products in front of your ideal customer very easily. Listing fees aren't very expensive either which makes this a great marketplace for selling jewelry.
The Shopify app connects to your own website which is ideal for people who wish to not pay listing fees on items. Once you've created your website using the Shopify platform, you can track sales and inventory using the Shopify app. If you have very high priced jewelry this may be a good option for your business because there are no transaction fees from Shopify for selling your jewelry (just payment fees, for example PayPal fees for using their credit card system). This is unlike eBay who takes a rather significant portion of each transaction in exchange for allowing you to list your items on their platform.
I haven't personally used the Poshmark app yet to sell items however I have heard many good things about this app, especially from people who sell clothing and accessories such as jewelry. This app attracts customers who are specifically interested in purchasing clothing and accessories which may be ideal for your business. What makes this platform unique is that you have to use their app to sell your items, unlike the other platforms who also allow you to use their website. In my opinion, this is a good thing because if selling jewelry using an app is your goal, this would be an ideal platform to use because it focuses on sellers using their app.
Facebook Marketplace app
For local jewelry sales, the Facebook Marketplace app may be ideal for your business. Especially if you have a large network on the site. Many people like to purchase from their friends and this marketplace app is a great way to get your jewelry in front of your ideal customer. Additionally, Facebook makes it easy to share marketplace listings so you can share your listings in groups and with friends quickly, as well as encourage your friends to share your listings easily by just clicking “share now”.
I have not used the Tradesy app yet, however it appears to have great ratings. Tradesy specializes in helping sellers sell designer fashion so if you are selling second hand, high end jewelry this may be ideal for your business.
