I’ve been making money blogging for five years now and in this blog post I’ll share with you how I’m making money blogging in 2020. I use several methods of monetizing my blog including affiliate marketing, paid advertisements and selling my own digital products online.
Making money from a blog
If you’re interested in making money from a blog, I suggest you start today! The sooner you start your own blog, the sooner you can start making money from your blog. The sooner you create your blog, the sooner you can create blog posts that will hopefully show up in search results and drive search traffic to your blog. Even if you just have a blog name and one blog post to share right now, it’s a great idea to start your blog today and publish your first post.
How I am making money blogging in 2020
Like I said prior, I’m making money blogging using three strategies in 2020, which include promoting products and services (affiliate marketing), paid advertisements from relevant advertisers (using Adsense and sponsored posts from advertisers), and selling my own products (specifically, I’m selling meal plan printables on my site, EasyVeganMealPrep.com). Let’s dive deeper into each below.
Affiliate marketing income
This is one of my favorite ways that I’m making money blogging this year. I promote a variety of products and services on my sites, including business tools, meal planners, meal prep tools, and my favorite books. I use several affiliate platforms and am also an affiliate for websites that host their own affiliate programs.
I earn either a percentage of each sale I refer, or a flat rate commission for each referral. Affiliate programs I am part of include ShareaSale, BrandCycle, AWin, and CJ. I’m also part of the eBay affiliate program and Amazon associates program.

Paid advertisement income
Another way I’m making money blogging in 2020 is through paid advertisements. I have two ways I implement paid advertisements on my sites: Adsense and sponsored posts. Adsense is Google’s advertising platform for bloggers. Their platform is easy to use and generates some passive income from views on my blog. I also accept sponsored posts from advertisers who are relevant to my blog. These are advertisers who approach me and request a sponsored post. Having posts that rank on the first page of search engines is helpful in making money from paid advertisements.
Selling digital products income
Lastly, I also am making money blogging by selling my own digital products. On my other site, EasyVeganMealPrep.com I share digital meal plan printables that customers can purchase for instant download. Making digital goods is easy and selling them is easy because they can be set up and sold 24/7 without any extra effort on my end.
